A song I had written last year about a man who confronts a parent who uses religion to shame her trans child who expresses freedom and happiness post-transitioning. A little trans rights tune written from the POV of a cisperson.

Her hopscotch pep
A spring in her step
She used to want to fly the coop
Now, she's living in her truth!

I can't tell her who she is
Because she isn't who I am
What I think matters less

I have no judgement
I envy her so
We all want to be ourselves all the time
If that's who we'll ever know
